CyPlus® Activator CN

CyPlus® Activator CN is a useful additional reagent for the detoxification of cyanide-containing effluents. It is suitable for effluents over a wide cyanide concentration range. Therefore, it can be applied to the Steel Industry, Electroplating Industry and in some cases to the Mining Industry as well.

This reagent has two purposes:
  • It acts as a catalyst in accelerating the reaction between cyanide and peroxygen compounds, resulting in the formation of the much less toxic cyanate.
  • It enables a potentiometric monitoring of the cyanide content in cyanide-containing effluents, using suitable electrodes.
As an average, the addition rate of this chemical is in the range of 100 ml/m³ of effluent.
