CyPlus® CCS - Cyanide Control System

The cyanide concentration in a leach plant is usually controlled by manual colometric titration in intervals of 1 h or more. This usually leads to significant fluctuations in the cyanide levels in a gold plant, resulting in gold losses at times of reduced cyanide levels, and a waste of cyanide during the frequent overdosing of NaCN.

We have developed a Cyanide Control System (CyPlus® CCS) for the semi-continuous free cyanide analyses coupled with the automatic dosage of the cyanide solution. A maintenance-free filter unit provides a solid-free leach solution from the leach pulp. A semi-continuous potentiometric cyanide analysis makes it possible to analyse the free cyanide without any interference from metal-complexed cyanide, which is not available for cyanidation. The continuous data for free cyanide are used to control automatically the dosage of NaCN solution. CyPlus® CCS has been installed worldwide at mines in all five continents. The efficient cyanide control reduces cyanide consumption by up to 25%, thus paying off the investment for the CyPlus® CCS within a few months.
