TMT 15®

TMT 15®, otherwise known as trimercaptoriazine is a useful reagent in complementing the detoxification of cyanide-containing effluents. In the detoxification of cyanide, heavy metals, such as copper, largely participate as hydroxides and can be separated from the clear solution. However, often residual heavy metal concentrations prevail due to the presence of other complexing agents like ammonia, for example, (e.g. copper tetraamine). In such cases, TMT 15® can act as a useful precipitant in removing heavy metals from effluents and in achieving drinking water quality with regard to the metals involved.
